Villa Ducci is situated in a panoramic position with magnificent view over the towers of San Gimignano at 1,5 km from the city centre. The origins of the villa have been lost in the course of the centuries. Sure is that in the 13th century documents of the municipality of San Gimignano mentioned a watch-tower at San Biagio. During the following centuries a residential complex was formed around the watch-tower. The villa's name comes from the Ducci family who, in the beginning of the 19th century, enlarged and transformed the tower into a villa.
